Happy adoptaversary you freaking gremlin! 7 years ago we adopted Bernadette (then called confetti) from @fdnewlife. She's done a lot in 7 years! Traveled to 20+ states, ran down a deer and caught multiple birds (not my happiest moments, but probably hers), moved from Oregon to Tennessee, and chewed a lot of tennis balls.

Thanks for sharing your life with ours, Bernie. You are my joy, you freaking creature made of mud and thistles and smells of dead creatures you roll in. You are so gross. I love it. We love you.

After about 5 months of building the shop, we now

After about 5 months of building the shop, we now have lights! Still waiting for the electric company to provide three-phase (Jeremiah is very extra) but it's now a usable shop in the evening!

We haven't taken the home on wheels out since we moved here, but it's staying nice and dry in the covered space. And now when we work on it, we have so much room for activities! Like... so so much room. 😂
.
The list of things we needed to improve or fix on the RV has somehow gotten longer since we've been sitting in one place, so one of these weekends we are going to start tackling today projects so we can travel later this year. I'll try to keep you updated even though I'm very forgetful about Instagram now that we're not on the road. 🤔

Since we've been in a house for 8 months now (😮🤯) we have been exploring our new-to-us city between our diy projects, fixing up the rv, and working.

Someone referenced us as locals the other day, and that hasn't happened in a long time. The comment stirred the same kind of excitement that I used to feel when I told people we traveled full time in a motorhome".

Chattanooga is a beautiful city with so much to do. While there are TONS of people moving here, we'd like to lay claim that we've wanted to be here for 5+ years. We just took quite the circuitous route. 😆

We're trying to do tons of stuff out and about now that we have had a home base for 8 months. Had a super fun afternoon petting goats, pigs, sheep, horses, and cows at @littletailfarms and the hosts are incredibly friendly and chill. Check out Jeremiah's happy face a few pics in... to say we're dog people might be an understatement.

That's a lot of unfinished projects. Don't even get us started on what's left to do on the house... and the yard.🤣

While we're not actively traveling in the HOW right now, we are using it! Jeremiah's parents stayed in it for 3 weeks while visiting and helping us around the house. It's true; we put our guests to work.
.
I think one of the most constants in our lives is that we are always actively doing something. Traveling. Working on the rv. Seeing new places. Gardening. Remodeling. Building. Wrenching on cars. Creating all sorts of stuff, including messes. And that's ok. It fits us. We will clean it all up and finish all the projects. ... then we will start a new one. 🤣

Last week, we rode the steepest tram in the world, right here in our backyard up to Lookout Mtn. We've been up there a handful of times, but have always driven. You can't beat views like this!

We still find ways to make our huge motorhome seem small compared to other rigs. Our materials for our shop have been delivered... and we're getting to work!!

Jeremiah's dream shop!

It will be home for our motorhome among many other uses. We've been working hard at clearing some of the land, leveling it, putting plumbing down, and getting ready for a concrete pour on Tuesday.

We come in muddy and tired every weekend--things we like to be anyways! 😆 We are both good at operating big equipment now, too. 🚜

Yesterday I walked into the motorhome, turned on the gen, and pulled in the slides to move it. I stood in front of the shower and looked to the right and the left. I saw every part of the motorhome.

When I walked out, I said, "we lived in there for two and a half years. I can't believe it."
.
Jeremiah smiled, "we will never want a big home. We just want space."
.
It's true. We want a big yard. A garden. Lots of room for doggo to run. But our house? We'll never care. Living in close quarters will do that to you. But we will always want *space* outside.

It's crazy to think that in 2 months we'll be building a shop right where I'm taking the first picture from... and that it will be the chilling out place for our rv when it's not in use.

Yes, we're purposely building a shop big enough for our home on wheels. It's important to us, just as travel is.

Most of you probably don't know that Jeremiah has built race cars from scratch-like all the math involved and welding and everything that goes with building a car - from the ground up. He's created his own biodiesel. Exchanged engines in cars to give them more, uh, pizzazz. Fixed everything I've ever broken. In Oregon, there's a 53 Chevy waiting for our shop to be built, so... it's going to be a big shop.

It might even make the motorhome look small, but I'm not sure that's possible. 😂
